A Freshwater Oasis in the Middle of the Desert
In the middle of the desert, water pours out of the rocks, creating a freshwater oasis where plants, animals, and humans can rest and rejuvenate.
This is why we see so many different types of plants, animals, and archaeology along this nature hike, starting off with the ibex and hyrax. Our two most popular animals to see here in the nature reserve.
Even though this is an oasis for animals, lots of humans come here too, to see the nature, to enjoy the water in the desert, to cool off and splash around, and to enjoy the historical significance of the site.
There's a Chalcolithic Temple situated here, dating back over 5000 years. There are remains of agriculture and cities from the Roman and Byzantine times. And there's, of course, the modern day facilities, and water bottling factory.
And that's not to mention the waterfalls and springs spread throughout the nature reserve.
