Caesarea

From 2000 Years Ago Until Today

Caesarea, majestic ruins on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.

Built by King Herod over 2000 years ago to be the newest and closest deep sea port to Rome, Caesarea is full of classic Roman architecture, and a lot of history, too.

The conversion of Cornelius, the first non-Jew to convert to the belief in Jesus took place here. Pontius Pilate, the governor who presided over the area during the time period of Jesus and ordered his crucifixion was stationed here.

Theatre, horse races, and gladiator games all took place here.

There was an enormous bath house, full of wonderful mosaics, as is the main street that's been excavated.

And that's only in the Roman archaeology section. There's also the Crusader area, too.

But more on all of that on our tour.

How do I book a Virtual Tour?

  1. In order to NOT pay the VAT 17% tax that is applicable to Israeli citizens, when filling out payment information, please include either the name and address of the organization which you are ordering for, or your passport number in the "something you want to say" box. This exempts you from the VAT and makes the tour 17% cheaper for you than it would be otherwise.
  2. Once name and address/passport number are ready and easily accessible, click here for the payment link, fill in information, and click to pay.
  3. Once payment and necessary information is received, Rotem will email you to schedule the tour date and time of your tour
